A little bit about Mark Twain

We’re about to start The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (TATS for short) and we’ll need to know a bit about Mark Twain before beginning.

Do a little bit of exploring about Twain on some of these sites and post interesting facts about him… be sure to include links.

For example, did you know Mark Twain worked as a reporter?

Here’s the official site to Ken Burns’s Mark Twain documentary we watched in class.

Then there’s this site, which has hundreds of Twain’s quips and quotes sorted by category, like this one:

“The proper office of a friend is to side with you when you are in the wrong. Nearly anybody will side with you when you are in the right.”

So, have fun and learn about Mr. Twain. You can always conduct an advanced Alta Vista search on him as well (if you remember how).
